My take on the reports was the attacker, armed with 2 machetes apparently went after armed (mit guns!) guards first, not the presumably unarmed visitors to the museum.

I'm thinking there were some mental issues, or his Mullah told him he was wearing a ghost shirt . . .

France has the highest percentage of Muslims in its population of any country in Europe. It shouldn't be a surprise that they are the one's most frequently attacked out of any country in the EU. I support France's burqa ban, and most of its attempts at integration. They have to do something before parallel societies start cementing themselves in French society.

Islamic terrorists don't need a specific political or economic grievance to attack infidels, just the perception that the Ummah is being threatened by the kafir. As we've seen these 'threats' don't even have to be military, if you even 'assault' their religious sensibilities by drawing Muhammad that is reason enough to slaughter you and other innocent people.

I support the ban on burqas too, simply because it's a security risk. In England we're too pussy to ban it even though it breaks our laws about concealing your face in certain places.

I actually saw someone in a burqa for the first time ever, just a few weeks ago. It was quite shocking to me. She was with a bloke who had her on a short leash, based on my extremely brief experience.

It's a Middle Eastern cultural thing that's far older than Islam.  The Bible has a story about burqas in Genesis chapter 38.  It was basically a hooker's uniform.  Tamar, Judah's daughter-in-law used one to turn a trick with him for the price of  a young goat.  She ended up getting knocked up.  When Judah found out his told his thugs to go grab her and burn her up.  She then showed him his IOU and he backed down.  She had known who he was but he didn't have a clue who she was when he was banging her.  

It's now popular for non-muslim women around the world to wear hijabs on Hijab Day.  The dummies will end up in black sacks in a few years.

A much bigger factor might be metrapolitab France has a large Muslim minority as a result of its former colonial empire in North Africa, and the large Muslim minority has experienced a high degree of alienation due to very poor economic integration.

Many muslims do regard western women as almost all whores. You seem to think culture prejudice, in this case Muslim culture prejudice, can in most cases be offset by some largely mythical ability to digest implications of counter examples. If that were true, trump would have slunk permanently back to trump tower last November.

That fact doesn't give Muslims pause because there is an attitude present in many religious communities that non-religious people often don't understand. Regardless of how backwards hyper religious people can seem, they often still carry a certain hubris with them that makes them feel superior to the nonbelievers.

They could come from a country steeped in crime, barbaric penal laws, corruption, retrograde technology and education, and yet they will still consider themselves and their culture beyond reproach from Westerners because there is this fundamental assumption that their way of life is superior and the unbelievers are steeped in degeneracy.

So from this attitude you get this belief that Western women are whores because they wear skirts and their shoulders are showing, so they need to be covered. I'm not going to generalize all Muslims, but there is a substantial amount of the migrants who are fleeing disaster countries and yet still feel superior to the people of the countries they are fleeing to in Europe simply based on their belief in Islam. This is an incredibly self-destructive attitude and I don't think there can be much progress in bettering the Muslim world until Islam is humbled and gets rid of the hubris it has. That's what happened for the Christian world. After the cataclysmic wars of religion in the 1500s and 1600s Europe actually engaged in self-criticism and conceived of the revolutionary idea that maybe this monolithic religious path wasn't the right and only path for civilization, maybe there were alternative ways to live. This thinking gave birth to so many of the great minds of the Enlightenment who built the foundation of the modern world. The Islamic world has to do the same.
