Ooh, good thread...
I don't know. To me, "Life" looks derivative. I fee like I've already seen it. Plus, they seem to have shown a lot of plot points in the trailer. That's never a good sign.
As for "Aftermath," Arnold doesn't have the acting chops to pull off something of that magnitude. The only things he's ever done convincingly are playing a homicidal robot and parodies of himself. I'm not optimistic about that one. (As an interesting side note, I was just on IMDB looking at his page, and it looks like they're making a sequel to the 1988 Devito/Schwarzenegger comedy "Twins" called "Triplets." Fuck me, Hollywood really has run out of ideas.)
One movie that I'm cautiously optimistic about is "A Cure for Wellness." It looks like it has the potential to be an intriguing psychological thriller. It could be shit, though. Gore Verbinski is no Kubrick. At the very least it appears to be visually entertaining.

Ok, so "Life" looks great. But, as people have noted, it looks super familiar. I mean in one of the cuts from the trailer, I thought I saw Sigourney Weaver.
"Aftermath," from the outside, looks like it is indicative of everything that is wrong with American culture. Confusing responsibility with culpability. Retribution. Inability to experience empathy. Unless they make this ATC out to be a complete and utter jackass who is bereft of guilt, or unless Arnold and ATC have a cry fest of forgiveness in the end, I see badness on this one.
As for me there are three things I'm excited about:
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I really want "Ghost in the Shell" to be good(it looks visually well done), but Hollywood doesn't have a great track record with turning anime into live action.

Looks really intriguing, good for Arnold to go for some interesting roles. Thing is, ever since I had children, the lingering fear of loss is so strong that I can't stomach this kind of drama any more.
I'm with you on that. This does look interesting, but even the trailer was a bit stressful to watch, so I'll probably skip this movie.
I also agree on what others said about both Logan and Life. I don't have a link to post, but I think I'm most intrigued by Ghost in the Shell, which looks changed from the original, but not in a bad way I hope.
Normally I get excited about upcoming flicks, but this year we've got Wonderwoman, which is apparently going to have a lot of romance so I'm already losing interest, more Guardians of the Galaxy which might be ok, more Aliens might also be ok, more pirates of the Caribbean which could go either way but in any case all sequels so kinda meh, and Smurfs and Power Rangers, gag me with a spoon man, lol.
The Legend of King Arthur looks like a unique take on the story, and might be good. The Wall just looks like Live Action Mulan but instead of an Asian girl, we get a white guy saving China, so even though the special effects look cool, I'll pass. A cure for Wellness originally looked interesting, but I've heard it's just gruesome for the sake of it, not my thing. Split has intrigued me for a while, and it's one I'm actually still interested in seeing once it hits video or Amazon.
Anyway, this year seems to have less anticipation in the movie department for me. Lots of sequels and remakes, lots of reimagining old stories. Maybe it's just me, but very little looks exciting so far.

I was very suspicious when I saw the trailers for "Passengers". Interesting premise, super slick production design and effects, but there are a bunch of red flags. We get to ogle Jennifer Lawrence's flawless figure a bit too much, and get a flashy zero gravity effect, but then, Chris Pratt? I hate the guy, and am fully expecting the movie with an interesting premise turning into bro macho sexist ironic shit. I've just noticed that it has come out already.

How do you hate Chris Pratt?
JFC the very last one made my cry I laugh so hard...
