And what exactly did I say that was senseless?

Yes. I support killing them all. I don't know if the word "genocide" is appropriate though as Trump supporters obviously do not constitute a race. They are simply a subset of humanity with a dangerous level of stupidity. Through their actions of voting for Trump, they jeopardize the existence of the human race and are therefore in the same category as disease organisms.

That sounds vaguely Trumpish of you, actually.

Getting back to what the OP was saying;
This is the difference between long and short term thinking.
America has elected a salesman, who won't be able to meet his targets and as is standard for such, will blame everyone other than himself and obfuscate.
I don't see any good outcome for the US at this point.
Perhaps it is for the best that America's industrial heyday is past, the global market has moved on.
Economic reality isn't going to be suspended for Trump's BS.

To be fair the political component doesn't appear in the Oxford or Cambridge definitions.
I might suggest that a more accurate term might be 'Dekulakization' for the liquidation of political opponents.

The fucking idiot Trump voters have jeopardized the entire world and I question their fitness to vote.
Trump didn't win a democratic election. Even taking away the mass voter disenfranchisement and vote fraud, the fact he won is a testament to the fact that the US system is designed to ensure the popular will can be countered if special interests disagree with it.

When it comes to the root of the issue, AFTT47 is correct in my opinion. Trump won because the people who voted for him are stupid in some capacity. If you look at the entirety of government policies as it relates to a particular country, I like to think of it as an iceberg.
At the top is the shit that politicians want you to see, and below the surface is the massive stuff you either can't see or don't want to see.
For decades conservative politicians have screamed about the top and obfuscated everything else below the surface. Liberals are going to get your guns, god is perfect and made your gender correctly, women should have no choice in being an incubator, immigrants cause all the crime and took all your jobs.
Below the surface you have environmental policies, regulations that are setup to protect workers and consumers, foreign policy, clandestine spying on it's own citizens through data collection, wealth inequality, universal health coverage, poverty policies, and social security. Basically.. IMO.. the really really importantant crap. The crap at the top is a red herring that Christian conservatives froth over so they ignore what lurks below.

What the Republicans want to get back to:
The days of the Triangle Waistshirt Factory Fire. You know, back when unions were powerless, and there were few regulations that cost employers money (but cost 146 employees--mostly young women--their lives). I wonder if that's the 'great' Donald Trump was referring to when he said we need to make America Great again.
