It occurs to me, that while we have kudos and rep, perhaps we should have a third category of recognition ??
Kudos recognizes posts, and rep recognizes members, I'm thinking topics of a superlative nature need a salute of their own, too.
Perhaps 'stars' could be affixed inside the blue bar at the top of every page of posts ??
