I'll be enjoying a nice coned beef and cabbage this St. Patties day.  We've drastically reduced our animal intake, but we're not skipping the holiday treats!

(p.s. the best fast food fish is Burgerville's.  Omg, like crispy fried fish steaks! Fish 'n Chips, sooo good.

Funny, as a kid I used to really enjoy crab, crawfish, and the very occasional lobster.  Now I am utterly grossed out by it all.  Sea bugs, no thanks.

Castaway put me off crab for life.

I'm not sure why anyone would be the least bit perturbed or annoyed by someone else choosing not to eat meat on Fridays for a month out of the year.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I'm delighted. More left for us full-time carnivores.

And, as a tribute to my Catholic heritage, I've decided to give up ivory harvesting and nude ferret punching for Lent.

Fish is still meat. Just sayin'.

Even as a kid i was puzzled by this. My family did the fish on Friday thing pretty regularly, and even at 9 i knew fish was just fish meat...lol.

Anyway, I think it's great if people chose not to eat meat on Fridays. But that isn't what this thread is about. It's just saying some diocese are officially moving fish Friday to Saturday because of St Patties, and some are not, which seems odd. Not a big thing, but it is a bit funny. Smile

If properly cooked, a corned beef brisket tastes no saltier than a standard country HAM. And, you like ham, yes?

It's all in your head, man!

Ham, my dear, is made out of hog -- and that's a whole 'nother story.

Yes, I know. But, your issue was with the SALT, if I remember correctly.

No worries, though. I'll just make you tofu on St Paddy's Day.
How about that, hmm?

That'll learn ya! Wink
