Don't worry.

I returned to the US and my brother-in-law took me straight to the theater to see Star Wars. Fourteen hours of flying on three different planes and then two hours waiting to see a movie.

I still hate it.

The evidence that I have seen is that Lucas got his ideas from Camelot -- Arthur, the valiant, yet imperfect, King; Merlin, his confidant even in the afterlife; his evil son, the Green Knight; Sir Lancelot, his trustworthy knight-in-arms; and the beautiful Guinevere, whom Sir Lancelot also loved.  Of course, we have Excalibur and the Knights of the Round-table (who were celibate); toss in some medieval Catholicism mixed with Roman federalism with sprinkles of Nazi fascism mixed with the modern cowboy/Indians mentality of Star Trek (note the reference to the "cloaking device" in Star Wars:  The Empire Strikes Back, which, of course, did not have "A New Hope" in its original 1977 crawler -- James Earl Jones also went uncredited), mixed with 2001:  A Space Odyssey, and Voilà, you have Star Wars!!

But, to throw a little damper on things (for some, at least), watch this:

Star Wars films? I liked the one where all the teddy bears had spears.

Fun trivia: they were all BBQed on those spears by craft services after that scene was shot.

It was prequelish. Lots of dots connected but shallow characters and overly complicated plot. Missing the Kurasawa element and there was potential for it. The droid has the most personality of all characters. It is the most free of the characters, too. It chooses its path while others seem resigned to theirs.

Crap, now I have to rewatch it from this perspective.

And, it's still playing, even though the DVD/Blue-Ray came out today:

P.S. Moana is still playing, too, and so, who knows?!

I'll be picking up my copy on the weekend (when I'm not stuck in Devonport).

Haven't seen Moana yet.

Probably wait until I can get a copy elsewhere...

Still one of my favourite parts of Rogue One is the tie ins with Rebels, the animated series.

But, dammit, I want to see Ahsoka in a live action movie.
