my healthcare idea
Taken from my youtube post

our taxes a portion of it should be given into a government mandated healthcare system in which everyone has basic health insurance.
from there anyone else wanting a premium healthcare option this in turn forces competitive insurance prices across different providers.
from this the rich get a tax break and don't have to put money into the system like obamacare i.e. ACA. the tax payer gets healthcare with or
without a premium insurance with no force mandate and doesn't have to pay a penny more or a penny less in taxes and is guaranteed healthcare
with no age restrictions. Meaning if said person needs a expensive surgery they are covered, they will have to pay a co pay but not a lot. This right here
is the most American health care idea and something we should have.

what do you think.

RE: my healthcare idea
How do you define "basic health insurance"?

It would be far more cost effective to have a universal healthcare system where the government can negotiate prices with health care providers, and ultimately in the long run running hospitals themselves.

Secondary response

I guess you are not for liberty and freedom then this is the most American healthcare bill and disagreeing with it
would mean you do not love either above. Because they have liberty to this healthcare and the freedom to receive it
disagreeing would make you un-American.

In so many words this pretty much i worded it up without having to say universe healthcare because those words apparently on fox  news along with socialized health care is a no no

How does determining the extent something is "American" work?

If it doesn't work, costs a fuckton of money and enriches some corporate cocksucker, it's very 'Murrican.

I think your plan makes only slightly more sense than Trumpcare.

Your plan is basically to take a portion of taxes to pay for basic healthcare, and then cut taxes on the rich, without explaining where this funding is going to magically come from.  Cutting taxes on the wealthy seems to be there only to appease Republicans.  The problem is, cutting taxes on the rich in this scenario means that the money for healthcare has to still come from somewhere.  You say 'taxes', but you're also cutting taxes.  Single-payer even for basic care would cost more than what we pay into the Affordable Care Act now.

Why go with a half-assed version of Single-Payer?

RE: my healthcare idea
Your idea is universal single payer healthcare for the basics with the option to opt out and pay for a different plan if you have the desire and money do to so.

This is not your idea, its the Canadian health care system with the flawed idea of allowing people to opt out. It's the "all in" nature of universal insurance that allows it to be more efficient. To make your plan better, just change the provision allowing the opt out to one that allows the purchase of additional coverage on top of the basic plan without opting out of the universal system.
Now, your back to the Canadian system which the clownservatives will never accept for purely ideological reasons. They don't care that it costs less. They don't care that outcomes are better. All they care about is that some people who are not contributing taxes will get coverage and they will not abide this. They are in favor of cutting off their noses to spite their faces and are proud of it for the sole reason that it maintains ideological purity.

I certainly wouldn't apply that analysis to all conservatives, but my experience being formerly part of such circles, is that ideological purity ranks high on the short list of primary motivators. "What works" barely apparently makes the list, if at all, with such people.

We could learn a lot from our northern neighbor.
