Reminds of a certain neighborhood, in florida, that i use to run through that leads to the bay. It was a beautiful neighborhood with lots of greenery. Brings me a sense of calmness.
Heard this song on the day of 9/11 so sometimes it brings back past emotions of sadness. Oddly enough they have a 9/11 version of this song.
Here's the 9/11 version.

I've always liked the Church. Listening to Starfish on the airplane flying back to California as my stepfather lay on his deathbed, this song just broke me open. Days pass like warm sun on the face ...
There are other songs as well that move me deeply based on the emotional context of a particular time in my life. More to the point of this thread, there's something about this piece that lights me up inside:

Also, I can't help but bawl like a mofo during the last scene of my favorite film, Moonrise Kingdom, so I similarly bawl like a mofo whenever I hear the music that plays during that scene:
How will we know, when the morning comes, we are still human? - 2D
Don't worry, my friend. If this be the end, then so shall it be.

This grabs me by the emotional gut way more than the original ever did. It's much more wistful and melancholic.

but only when I was tripping hard...
The light show Tommy put on with an empty Heineken bottle and flashlight probably contributed too.
I'm of Irish heritage. I think of this song each time I choose to attend a wake. How it should be, like Finnegan's Wake.

My mistake for the double post.
Coincidence: my friend and cousin by marriage, George, died yesterday. He got me into motorsport. Gave me a VIN off his parts car to get into the Porsche Club of America. My Subaru got me kicked out after 2 autocross sessions. He loved that. He both stuck up for me and shat on me. Perfect combination for George. Funny slob and a very good driver. I compare myself to him as a driver.
This song will be played at his wake. Fare thee well, George Skaubitis.

Only when played by her, but it makes my soul cry.

^This song is the reason I think the Beatles will never be surpassed as a pop band. It never fails to leave me with tears in my eyes, or at least goosebumps when I'm at my most apathetic.

^This on the other hand just makes me break down and cry like a little baby as I think of my own mortality and the fact that we are just insignificant specks of dust in a universe that is incomprehensibly large and hostile.

^This is how I usually bounce back from that.

^This on the other hand, reminds me of when I was 17, and I had had this huge crush on a girl going on for 2-3 years; she treated me like dirt though, and so I decided to just let it go and never speak to her again. Then I met the girl who is now my SO of 5 years, and during that period my old crush would send me texts in which she explained she was sorry and she missed me and whatnot. Well, this song reminds me of how I felt about it. Bitter, but with a side of ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.
Fact: Every time you eat a bite of cake, someone gets horsewhipped.
Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses.
Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder.
Vote "yes" on Proposition 1321. Think of some kids. Some kids."

And also, obviously, this. Only in this version, too. Because of his age, in this context the words are much more gripping than the original.
