Yet the two biblical scholars who feature in the movie, Gary Habermas and William Lane Craig, both teach at institutions (Liberty University and Biola University, respectively) that require their faculty to sign statements affirming that they believe the Bible is inspired by God and is free of any contradictions, historical inaccuracies or moral failings. For example, the Liberty University faculty application requires assent to the following statement:

“We affirm that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, though written by men, was supernaturally inspired by God so that all its words are written true revelation of God; it is therefore inerrant in the originals and authoritative in all matters.”

The overwhelming majority of professional biblical scholars teaching in the United States and elsewhere are not required to sign such statements of faith. Many of the other scholars he interviews in his book have similar affiliations. Strobel has thus drawn from a quite narrow range of scholars that are not representative of the field as a whole. (I estimate there are somewhere around 10,000 professional biblical scholars globally.)

Nonetheless, one can bet that the morons will be jerking off to this absurd movie.  Let's call it "Jesus Porn."

Well, they usually make these for dirt cheap, because they know Christians will flock to it no matter how poorly made it is. Wikipedia is saying it cost 3 million while another site I saw said "around 5 million."

It will have a huge profit margin like the other Christian propaganda films, because they don't have to make a bundle at the box office and have a built-in audience. Then there's the DVD money...

I remember hearing that when I subjected myself to the masochistic torment of his fallacy-ridden twaddle listened to his "Case for Christ" on audio as I was driving one day and felt so bewildered by the sheer stupidity and wonder of how anyone could buy into this crap inspired. The reasoning is quite circular simple. 

1. The Bible tells us Jesus is Lord.
2. We know this is true because Jesus fulfilled the Bible's prophecies (actually, no, he really didn't which is why the Jews didn't buy this crap)
3. We know that he fulfilled the Bible's prophecies because the Bible tells us he did. (actually, no, but let that go since the whole argument is laughably circular anyway). 

Fuck me some people are so stupid. PRAISE THE LORD!
