Pacers, Pintos, Javelins. All are cars known to explode when rear ended.

We would hold them like the adults held their real cigarettes. Candy cigarettes are still around. They've just moved upscale. The only place you can find them are the boutique candy stores.

They're one of my favourite sweets, and thankfully, no different (that I can tell) in taste or texture from how they used to be. I bought some relatively recently online for old times sake... and there you can get them by the proverbial carton : You've got me tempted now... I think I'll order some tomorrow as a treat. There's nothing quite like receiving a box of say £20 worth of sweets through the post... which can last from days to months depending on how disciplined you are in eating and rationing them So probably about ten boxes of Candy Sticks, topped up with a couple of other favourites such as red liquorice, milk bottles, and I have to say, black liquorice (I never used to like it particularly, but now given a pack of Liquorice Allsorts, the plain black ones - Red Dwarf's Kryton saying 'those itty bitty black twisty ones that everybody hates'... well not me - would be the first ones I'd go for... rather than the bobbly ones or the sandwichy ones). And then on top of that, one bag of something random just to try something new. That should do the trick a nice little Easter present to myself
Peeps are where it's AT!!!

The only sweets I've had from America, other than Twinkies, are something that someone gave me when they came back from there... but unfortunately I can't remember what they were called, or who made them. I wish I knew because then I might be able to order some. It was basically a large bag of about a hundred different flavours of jelly bean... everything from coffee to watermelon... and one of these flavours took me right back down memory lane because it tasted exactly the same as a chewing gum I used to like when I was a kid: Dentine. I've never tasted that flavour anywhere else except in that single 'gourmet' jelly bean. Any idea what those jelly beans are called and who makes them?

They're the same guys that make the Bertie Bott's and Bean Boozled jelly beans.

It doesn't ring a bell or look familiar from that site... I'd recognise it I think if I heard/saw it again. But thanks for the suggestion anyway and for the link... that site apparently has international outlets, so that might be a way for me to get my hands on some American sweets... so yeah, thanks for that (April 16, 2017 at 10:59 pm)emjay Wrote:(April 16, 2017 at 10:18 pm)The Gentleman Bastard Wrote: Those were probably Jelly Belly jelly beans. Yes, I was going to suggest Jelly Belly too. They have a ton of different flavors and new ones all the time. I've toured their factory twice, it's only about 50 miles from my home!
