I like Maher.
His point in this instance is bang on and it actually applies to others besides Clinton. I find too many liberals are looking for perfection in their public representatives. You can be 99% liberal but disagree on one point and your the fucking racist sexist homophobic enemy.
That "more liberal than thou" mindset hurts the very people and institutions that liberals are trying to help.

I thought she would be 8 more years of Obama-like policies, but she'd have known what the fuck she was doing, she'd not be starting a war in NK, she'd not be damaging international relations nearly non-stop, and she'd not be rolling back the clock on Climate Change, Education, Civil Rights, Separation between Church and State, etc etc etc.

Other than climate change (which may kill all of us, or at least our descendants), my prediction is that Trump will be the best thing for progressivism.

Well obviously ignoring the real issues, and just saying you're better than the other guy is not the way to win a presidential election. Unfortunately Hillary and the DNC don't seem to have learned that lesson, so there's really no helping them.

Maher is right.

Hillary would be doing much better than Donald Trump right now. People wouldn't be in fear of losing their coverage. LGBT wouldn't be in fear of losing their rights. We wouldn't be seeing Christian-Sharia law get a leg to stand on. We wouldn't have lost the respect of the international community. The Education department wouldn't be run by a banshee bitch who wants to brainwash our children with creationist nonsense. The EPA wouldn't be run by a man who'd be totally okay with companies dumping oil in the local water supply if it meant saving money. The new healtchare plan wouldn't be coming from people who think that poor people should just go die already. She wouldn't be taking trips to Mar-A-Lago every week. I bet she doesn't even play golf. We'd be much better off under Clinton. And anyone who thinks otherwise isn't really a liberal.

She supported some of the things Trump wanted i agree with you but at the same time she was more for fracking TPP etc. 
The country as it is needs to move away from Oil and Gasoline the fact now is the public spoken and is doing it themselves because look at the oil demand
it is a all time low and is continuing to drop even further. Tesla the car manufacture now is ahead of GM on the market and in 2018 will release  a cheaper car
for the pubic and it already has the interest in consumers already even me. So the public moving to renewable energy while other countries do so as well even the EU.

Pulling out of TPP will be one of the worst mistakes America makes foreign/trade policy wise in a long time. It was a shitty deal, and we needed to not sign it as is, but right now China is negotiating a massive trade deal in the South Pacific without us in the way. Killing TPP was a populist, terrible idea. Amending it before it was signed would have been a smart move. Hillary said she was going to kill TPP, but even if she was lying as you somehow need her to be, signing the deal as it is right now would be far far far far preferable to not being involved in the deal at all. No matter what America does manufacturing-wise, we are going to be buying electrical components/chips from overseas.

I don't know why I get into these conversations with you. You are so monumentally misinformed, I just feel like someone has to say at least something to you in the hopes that something, anything, slips through. Hillary would not have appointed a climate change denier to head the EPA. She would not have okayed the Keystone Pipeline, she would not have allowed coal plants to dump refuse into water supplies. She would not have rolled back the requirement that in order to sell cars in the US in 2025, you had to meet a 54.5 mpg fleet average. Hillary repeatedly said on the campaign trail that Climate change was the most important issue affecting our future. You are just pitifully ignorant.
