How heavy are those birds, Gawdzilla? I've been meaning to head over to the Carolina Raptor Center with a camera for some time now.

Pretty heavy. Notice the arm support, partly to prevent unexpected moves, but also to help the lighter people hold her up. She was not eligible for return to the wild so she became one of their spokesbirds.

I apologize that I don't have these photos linked somewhere where I can embed them with BBcode, but I loved the demonstration Sky Kings puts on at the Ren-Faire every year. They were fascinating.

The owl was AMAZING - it scared the shit out of everyone despite them seeing it coming just because it was so fucking quiet when it flew.

They had a white collared raven there too who was trained to take paper money donations from viewers and put them in a box.
