I REALLY don't want the mess of him figuring out hydro. He'd insist on teching it up to suit himself, and I don't have that kind of time this year. I'll plant the seed in his brain and see if he comes up with anything before next spring.

Yeah, the teching it up bit can get messy. For the future, and maybe to help sell the idea....you could just put a few gallons of nutrients higher than the pots and restricting the feed by narrow irrigation tubes and flow obstruction. So long as the flow was low enough it wouldn't flood and it could get you through the day keeping the growing media moist (would probably still require a daily drenching).

He keeps bringing home little motors and computer parts he's found that he wants to put to some use, and is absolutely fascinated by whatever all-inclusive climate control system they're selling at Home Depot right now that would let him program 50 different "profiles" ... I think he's trying to turn the condo into the Enterprise. If I let him, he'd Star Trek the fuck out of a hydro system.

Lahni and I practicing our duet (night visiting song..lol)
Some shots of the new places sideyard, my daughters are both attempting to write the next great american novel.
There's a little creek beyond the fence (the property comprises both inside slopes of two decent hills and the valley at the bottom..really nice spot) that has a wooden foot bridge beyond a livestock gate - rained so hard day before yesterday that the water was rushing over it. Really awesome downpour. It's even greener now - the ground is a carpet of violets.

Sounds pretty cool to me. Always wanted to live on-board the Enterprise.

Rhythm, what's the flower status over there? All we have right now are violets and forget-me-nots and dandelions. Everything else seems about a month behind - the rhods were blooming like crazy this week last year (still in bud right now), and some of the cherries are still in full fury.

Somewhat awesome. He gets distracted easily. If he had full weekends to work on stuff, it'd probably be better, but usually he has only one day off a week so stuff gets...left.

The ground has exploded with life. Some of the garden flowers have started but much more impressively all manner of wildflower and weed (the goldenrod is 3 feet tall, at least) are going nuts. The wild strawberries are throwing on blossoms, my hyacinths are gorgeous...lol.

Goddammit. The clover is up, but when I checked at the parks last week they was bare. The trilliums weren't even up at Linville yet.
And it looks like many of the daffodils were killed off in the last freeze, although a few late stragglers popped up. And my friend Kelly finally saw bloom on her bleeding hearts.
NC is having a fucked up spring.

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke
