Do christians believe in Witchcraft?
#51
RE: Do christians believe in Witchcraft?
Meh, maybe, but it does help to answer the OP Q, so I think it's progress.

I still think we can dredge up a christian who writes that off as the icky jew part of the bible.  Sure, sure, there's the odd blurb in the NT about it here and there, some stories..but ofc the people who wrote them would have believed that, they would have thought so...many of them had very recently been jews and or assorted pagans who also believed in witchcraft.  Similarly, the medieval period was influenced by vast swathes of latent and residual paganism.

No christian, today, has to believe in witchcraft or sorcerers.  I actually think that it's anomalous...... that we're three for three. AF must really draw 'em in.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

It really does. It takes a certain type of Christian to haunt atheist websites online for years. Most Christians I've known offline are more sensible than this.
I don't believe you. Get over it.

Definition of sorcery according to Merriam-Webster:

"The use of power gained from the assistance or control of evil spirits"

I believe in this, including demon possession, based on biblical and numerous modern day accounts from trusted individuals.  People who put their total faith in science will investigate something like this until it is determined that it cannot happen based on natural laws, then you will stop when it reaches that point and won't go any further.  That's where you run into the confines of that little box in which you live and die. Go ahead and "tsk tsk" at me all you want.  It doesn't bother me, since I'm not trying to fit in anyway.

PS:  I got into this forum in the first place because I want to face all the tough questions.

Mind blown. Donald Trump is evidence for the rapture.

People who were being executed for being witches in the old days couldn't think on their feet. They could have had a lot of fun with the crowd before they bit the dust. They should have called all kinds of curses on the mob and made as big of a production out of it as they could. Since they were already goners there was nothing for them to fear.
