If some teenage girl in Wichita puts a dream catcher over her night stand, how does that affect your use of dream catchers or the meaning that symbol has for you? Besides, as a non-believer you have already personally disavowed the spirituality that gave meaning to the symbol. You can't have it both ways.

Being an atheist says nothing about one's approach to spirituality. It only speaks to lack of belief in gods.

I'm sure a number of SJWs would call my recent embracing of Taoism to be cultural appropriation as, alas, I am not Chinese. I just ignore those members of the left.

What I don't like is people acting like all millennials are social justice warriors (the type that this thread is about, anyway.) In fact I don't like people ever saying any blanket statement about millennials because 95 percent of the time it's just whiny, stereotyping bullshit.

EDIT: Cultural appropriation is the reason we have so many great jazz artists as well.

I wouldn't say that all millenials are annoying SJWs. . . but based on my experience, when I do come across a particularly annoying SJW, it's likely to be a millenial.

I think that's because older people have defined themselves by living their actual lives: I'm a teacher, a programmer, a father, a hobbyist musician etc.  I don't really have a lot of angst or insecurity about my identity. Some kid in college has what to define who they are?  Only the beliefs they care (and pretty arbitrarily, too) to lock onto, unless they are particularly mature.

And when I find an older SJW, I have to ask myself-- what is making this full-grown adult feel so empty inside that he has to validate himself by looking for ways to confront others, or to get approval by condescendingly championing a group of people who can express themselves perfectly well without him?

I will slap him if he continues with appropriation angle.

There are problems worth our consideration and then there are problems derived of absolute importance.

Your culture is only less of what it is if you allow it to be that way.

Grow the fuck up.

She was a literal SJW, but obviously you know that these days, we use the term pejoratively to talk about people who pose as SJWs in a form of self-validation.

The critical difference is the way the person forms a relationship between a cause and a behavior (like a rant):
-A conscientious citizen might rant in an effort to educate and persuade, in achieving an important goal. They hope if they speak effectively (or just loudly) enough, they might achieve some useful results.
-A SJW pretends to adopt an important goal so he gets the right to go off on rants. He thinks if he acts offended enough, we all have to listen to his righteous indignation (read: verbal masturbation).

I'm sure you have a lot of insight into their motivations.

I can get being offended if someone is out screaming bad things about your culture but to be offended by someone simply owning a Dreamcatcher in the privacy of their own homes is beyond ridiculous.

Not really and you confirmed my point . And it's anything ridiculous

What point did I confirm?
