Breastfeeding in public

Dude.  Who fucking cares?  Why does anyone need to cover her breast at all, baby feeding or otherwise?  Look at all the disgusting shit in the world, and tell me that a few inches of boob are such a horrifying eye-sore that ANY discretion at all should be required.  This is the state of the USA right now:

As a womans' body creates milk her metabolism increases, and it gets really hot with a bigger baby sucking down. Also, To have good airflow to their little nose oxygen helps a lot! Most woman would rather breastfeed in a comfortable private place with boobs out and free, but unfortunately  thats not always avail so people need to get over seeing tits. Steuben, you can easily avert your eyes and allow a woman to be a good mom.

I think this is an insidious view, a real wolf in sheep's clothing. Let me pick it apart:

1) Yeah, they can.
2) They shouldn't have to, because there's nothing wrong with breasts, or with seeing them.

It's not even an "issue" really.
1. Women are just as embarrassed to breastfeed without any cover in public.
2. We don't really have to ask them to cover up they'll do it themselves, unless they're clueless, in that case some other woman will tell em.
3. Mothers usually carry a little bottle of milk with them with the little nibble on it for emergencies, I don't know about specifics, maybe someone can help?
4. If it's a really huge emergency most women I know would just find a private ladies place to do it. I've never seen a woman just whip a tit out and feed the kid in public, I can't imagine how embarrassing, awkward and weird it will be for her and those around her

Every part of a woman's body is sexualized if you choose to. Breasts are secondary sexual characteristics, so okay. But so what? Who said anything to do with reproduction is intrinsically inappropriate? Women have big hips, too; should we require them to wear boxes? As far as I'm concerned, the only reason people shouldn't walk around naked 100% of the time is for their comfort and due to serious hygiene issues from fluid cross-contamination.

As for the "slave thing," it's a crystal clear example of the dis-ingenuity of people claiming the imposition of their own wants on someone else is for the other's best interest. "I'm not racist but. . ."

Here we have a crystal case of the same category of bullshit from Sterben: "Of course, I'M fine with breast feeding, I'm just worried about the women who will have to have perverts (read: like me) staring at their breasts."

No. Fucking no. The solution to double standards isn't to condescendingly guide women through the minefield of social convention. It's to recognize that the convention is bullshit, rooted in the barbarism of Victorian English and a fairy-tale religion, and to refuse to accept it. If perverts won't stop staring at a mother's breasts, then discipline the perverts, and leave the baby to eat its lunch in peace.

Yes. But its not an issue were I come from. Breastfeeding is encouraged, albeit women that can't are somewhat looked down. That is what those formulae are for.

Around portugal boobies are naturally good stuff. There is nothing in the law that women cant topless sunbathe on tje beach. Seen plenty. What is the problem?

I mean, if that's your position then I can understand your argument from your POV, but that is a minority position. Most people don't want to walk around completely naked, you know? But yeah, I understand your point. Men don't have to cover up their nipples but it's just because men's chest isn't sexualized like women's breasts. It is a double standard but it's not a societal double standard, it's a sexual "double standard", right? I mean, we can't force people to be sexually aroused by men's nipples, not that I'm against it, flashing some nippy and getting lucky would be pretty easy and cool

The double standard isn't exclusive to being sexual. It also is societal. The two are linked:
Society says women have to cover up their breasts because their breasts have continuously been viewed as an object of sexuality, rather than as a food source for infants. And why is that? Because breasts turn people on. And why could that be? Because magazines like Penthouse and Playboy display them as such. And then we have the highly anticipatory Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition that comes out every year, glorifying the female body in scantily clad clothing marketed as "swimwear".
