I remember watching The Expanse before, but I cannot recall where I left off. Besides, it was a long time ago, and even though I may have seen at least the first season I am going to start from the beginning again.

Finishing up with season four of The Expanse, then two more seasons to go.
Favorite character is Amos. He's pretty but psycho.

I watched this. It involves a closed Catholic school where priests and nuns tortured children.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I didn't catch the catholic part, but I remember it was a school that mistreated indigenous children.

Did you not watch the 3rd episode? Because it is very explicitly explained.
First, they go to the basement where they are surrounded by crucifixes, pews, Mary statues, and other torture devices for the mind, and they discover a secret room where it is explained how nuns and priests tortured kids there physically.
