I recall watching a video on youtube (yeah, I know) where Harlan Ellison discussed the whole deal about the genesis of Scientology. Even if what he says isn't true, one has to wonder at the gullibility of people, when they will follow shit like that. It's no different from what's happened for millenia. We (the general population) aren't any smarter than we were 6k years ago. We just have more education, and that doesn't always take.
