I'm making fun of pedantry and also satirizing the argument from ignorance. It wasn't intended to diminish yours, merely work off of it to deliver an even more spectacular blow (only not using sarcasm, but satire).

Ah. Yeah, something gets lost sometimes in the text that would be clear if we were talking. Smile

Such is the nature of the un-narrated written word. Of course even with the narrated word, the babble is still a load of incomprehensible toss.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

---

There is no better way to convey the least amount of information in the greatest amount of words than to try explaining your religious views.

Uh.... didn't Joseph Smith have a dream that the golden plates were buried in his yard? ... And isn't the Book of Mormon written in English? By virtue of the fact that the Book of Mormon exists in English, we have solid, tangible proof that I can physically show you that the plates were indeed buried in Joseph Smith's backyard and that Joseph Smith translated them to English. Twice!

Checkmate, atheists!

Even the Mormon church admits Joseph Smith's 'translation' of the supposed Book of Abraham isn't kosher.  And nonLDS scholars have noted Smith's 'translation' is untenable since he generates pages of text from each individual hieroglyph which 'everyone else' realizes represents a word . . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

They also have the threat of retaliation. "You don't believe me, that's fine. It's your immortal soul that's in danger, not mine."
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

The problem here is that they never just leave it at this. I'd love it if they were actually fine with it and they would actually drop it at this point. Instead, they keep coming back and repeating the threat.
I don't believe you. Get over it.

They only threaten you because they love you and just want you to change everything about yourself to fit their ideal.

Can you feel the love?

That sounds like the kind of love that qualifies for a restraining order.
