The further I get into Shattered, the less I'm concerned with how Trumply won. Of far greater import in the future is understanding precisely why Hillary failed in her 2008 run for the presidency and again failing at it in 2016.

You are never going to get a candidate without flaws.  It is unrealistic to expect a flawed system like ours to produce one.  The best we can hope for is someone who excites Democrats, as Clinton and then Obama did and rely on the fact that they tend to be smarter than republicunts.  If you are waiting for someone who is perfect you are going to have a very long wait.
