A majority of voters in military households think transgender people should be allowed to serve in the military, according to a new survey.

A Quinnipiac University poll found 55 percent of voters in military households believe transgender people should be allowed to serve in the military.

Thirty-nine percent of voters in military household disagree.

The poll follows President Trump's announced ban on transgender individuals serving in the military.

Among all Americans, 68 percent think transgender people should be allowed to serve in the military, compared to 27 percent who think the opposite.

A majority of Republicans, 60 percent, oppose allowing transgender people to serve in the military.

It's true that, according to the Navy Times "57 percent of active-duty military personnel expressed a negative opinion of the decision to allowing transgender troops to serve openly."

But the results were less clear when it came to service members’ personal expectations for the change. Almost half — 47 percent — believed the policy change would have little effect on their own unit’s military readiness.

Roughly 41 percent thought it would hurt the units. About 12 percent believed allowing transgender individuals to serve openly would be beneficial to readiness.

Most think a policy of tolerance would not harm their unit's readiness, even though a majority expressed a dislike for the policy itself.

I've always felt like having actual friends who are black kind of does preclude you from being a full-blown racist. I don't like it as evidence, but I don't discredit it at its face because of the "I have black friends." trope. That said, those aren't Trump's friends. They're his co-workers. No evidence of his mindset to be had here, folks.

My wife is black, but I voted for Trump, so according to the majority of liberals, I'm still a racist. I think the mindset has determined that one cancels out the other and I can fall into whatever category makes the democrats feel better about themselves.  

Though eugenics testing has reveled that nearly everyone (like 99.9% of people) holds some sort of conscious or unconscious bias towards other races/classes.

I'm sort of liberal, but definitely not card-carrying, and I don't think all Trump supporters are racists. I think they just feel okay with ignoring what may be racism and what is most fucking undeniably blatant sexism. You might not be sexist, but you're definitely cool with it.
