If evidence for god is in abundance, why is faith necessary?

Ok, so it seems like discussion is not something that's particularly intriguing to you - do you mind if I ask you why not? If I made it seem as if this is all obvious, I admit that to be my mistake, and I apologize, because it isn't, and if any believer makes it seem like it is, they're wrong, and I'm sorry that you have to deal with that. But I'd love to hear more about how you got to your perspective on this topic.

What kind of discussion is possible when you claim knowledge that you don't have?  There is no objective, verifiable evidence for your or any god.  Until you can prove otherwise, you're just asserting and I'm just asking for evidence.

I keep thinking this thread of mine is dead, but it keeps coming back to life.

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

A leap of faith without proofs is but self-deception and not a real leap.

With proof, a leap of faith is not required. Sound proofs are, by their nature, convincing.

I define leap of faith as confidence and vision in proofs that are very convincing.

Oh well, if we're going to be making up our own definitions, I define gods as non-existent. I win.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

dood!
To people who spend their entire lives in a very confined geographical region, say a village or a town, it is very convincing that the Earth is flat. They have proof of it, even... just look around them! Everywhere you look, all you see is a flat horizon!

Things that require you to convince yourself in order to understand them are more likely false, than true.

God gave you a life so you can make something of it and all you do is waste it talking about how God gave you a life?

That faith is needed in the religious community reasonably means that zero evidence is in existence to prove god is real.

It's a good statement but I've trouble appraising its textual qualities and integrity - if you could make it more cohesive with some elegant variation, it should do to appeal to intellectuals alike.

Finally, be imaginative!

I hope that this inspires you and your argumentative endeavours.
