The Running Man Cometh!

NGC 1977, The Running Man Nebula
NGC 1977 is a large blue reflection nebula in Orion located just above the Great Nebula, M-42. The running man shape appears easily in CCD images, but is much more difficult to detect visually. In fact nebulosity around these stars is not readily visible in 6"-8" scopes. This image was cropped so that it would be a bit larger than the original, though it also includes the open cluster NGC 1981 for added beauty. I really like this object, and plan to do more extensive work on it in the future.

Messier 31, The Andromeda Galaxy
This one needs no introduction, I think. The image also includes Messier 32, a satellite galaxy of M31, to the lower right. An additional satellite galaxy, M110, is just outside of the view of this image, just above the top edge. Not the best image of this galaxy I've seen, by any stretch, but it'll do for now.
