The Dark Tower-Film

RE: The Dark Tower-Film
I think Stephen King always planned to end it that way. I'm not sure about other authors, but I totally revel in the thought of crushing people's hearts with an ending. I got angry emails about my first book. It was awesome.

That said, stick your kids in a closet. It's The Dark Tower, man!

I enjoyed them too. Among the best adaptations in movie history. I didn't like the Hobbit "trilogy" as much.

Sam did point out that "this is the farthest I've even been away from home."

Of course they could have shown them walking for several days. Just walking. For days.

It wasn't just walking, though. Tom.

Hmm...now I'm thinking I should see the movie before reading the book. I've never cared for any adaptation as far as I know, movie or television version. I know TV would be able to follow the source material better due to not having time constraints to the same extent, but the budget they're allotted won't enable it to compare to the quality of a feature film.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

There is no better way to convey the least amount of information in the greatest amount of words than to try explaining your religious views.

Can't wait to see it. Critics as a whole have a lot of hangups in that they cannot understand very simple things in cinema now. The fact that idiotic comic book films are our blockbusters says everything. I cannot fathom grown men going to see Spider Homecoming over Dunkirk, it baffles my mind entirely.

The book never interested me and the trailer to this film doesn't either. Can I just pass on both?
I don't believe you. Get over it.

Stephen King heretic  Angry .

You must be telekinetically ripped apart by a sexually distraught yet simultaneously competent highschool girl that is overcoming religious zealotry.

Or run over by a vindictive sentient car.

Or perhaps eternally tormented by an interdimensional clown.

And if you do not get these references it is because thou hath blasphemed against our Lord!

In the name of Stephen King, amen.  King

Stephen King's not all that great, really. I always thought he was over-hyped. To be fair, he's not bad either.

Just saw it.

We both enjoyed it greatly, going into it with the expectation it was an adaptation.
