Last night, Tibs and I were scrolling through HBO offerings after watching the Masterpiece Classic version of "Wuthering Heights," which is the best one in my opinion. We spotted "Stuart: A Life Backwards" and gave it a try. It was pretty unforgettable. I would recommend it for sure. I plan on picking up the book as well.
The movie is based on a biography about a homeless, multi-drug addicted, psychotic (probably bi-polar) man with muscular dystrophy who became friends with the author when they met at a homeless shelter or outreach center in England. It explores Stuarts life from where he is when Alexander meets him to when Stuart was a boy, seeking the cause of his maladies and addictions. It'll get you right in the feels.
