You know, I'm really starting to hate being identified as an American. He's brought so much shame and embarrassment to this country and her citizens, it's not even funny. I'd leave for Italy, but sadly, I don't know enough Italian to get my way out of a plastic bag. No time to actually re-learn all of it either.

Pride should be reserved for something you achieve or obtain on your own, not something that happens by accident of birth. Being Irish isn't a skill... it's a fucking genetic accident. You wouldn't say I'm proud to be 5'11"; I'm proud to have a pre-disposition for colon cancer.

Same goes for shame or embarrassment and for the same reasons

I just don't understand why people can't look past party lines and recognize when someone is truly bad for America. I mean, every president has it's loyal, zealous supporters. But there seems there should be a limit. If these people who really support this man and his cronies call themselves patriots, then they really aren't the patriots they claim to be.

All you have to do is look around the world and you will see a lot of examples where people gladly support dipshits who are really, really bad for the nation as a whole.  Most people tend to treat their leader as if he was a god and will support him regardless of how bad he is.  Even the people who are being oppressed don't try to overthrow them.  Common examples:  the guys in Venezuela, the Philippines, Zimbabwe, North Korea, Turkey, Saudi Arabia.

And Trump, don't forget the biggest disaster of them all.
