History is messy and people of every age are filled with contradictions. If neo-scholarstic were unfortunate enough to have his wife or daughter raped, I am sure he would be glad to have me set up a statue of the rapist in his living room, out of respect for history. He would surely not remove it after I leave, because that would be like Al queda in his house.

The wrong one seems to be erased, though I saw it. Yeah, we shouldn't venerate slaveholders, even if they were founding fathers, or the first president. You can keep it in a museum, but we should be venerating more enlightened people than that.
