If Your House Caught Fire, what are the Last 3 Things You'd Grab On Your Way Out?

I honestly can't think of a third thing.

The last things you'd grab?!?

Poor Tibs . . . Sad

I'm assuming the last things you grab are really the first things you grab after making sure your tits aren't hanging out. Who grabs more than three things when their house is on fire?

All the stuff I'd grab is already  in a rucksack (money, private papers spare clothes and jacket etc), I live on the 3rd floor so in the event of a fire I'd sling it out the window, then tie one end of this rope (which I keep in the corner) to my big table leg and climb down it, and I should be ok unless I accidentally hang myself..Smile

PS- the spare clothes are for if it's cold and rainy outside so I'd need the warm waterproof jacket, I'm a member of "The Survival Podcast" forum and have got it all nicely planned because we know how to give the Grim Reaper a run for his money, our message to him is "On yer bike mate!"

Living in a motel (second floor) and having someone running down the corridor at 3AM yelling "FIRE!" and banging on the doors is definitely something that gets your attention.

And then it got worse when I opened my door, looked down the corridor to the fire escape door, and saw the bright orange glow outside.

And as I am want to say:

Jesus Fucking Christ !

Incidentally I live in a rented flat, so if there's a fire I'm out that window and down the rope in a flash! My landlord supplied me with an extinguisher but if he thinks I'm going to stick around trying to protect his property he's very mistaken..Smile

And it's funny the fire I was inconvenienced by was ruled arson. A pile of cardboard stored outdoors was the starting point. I'm not convinced however. The guy that lives/works there had come back not too long before the fire erupted and he was a heavy smoker. I could easily seeing him flicking his butt as he was going in and it landing near the cardboard and setting it alight. If he had been there all night, or not there at all, yeah, somebody lit it, but he gave a plausible time lapse between getting back and the fire occurring. And this wouldn't have been a 'one time thing', he'd probably flicked a butt out there hundreds of times, and that one time it lit something . . . . .

Probably my first three things, mentioned in Rhonda's thread.

You know you can buy window ladders? I think I might invest in one. Our bedroom is on the second floor.

Good thinking, but I feel sorry for poor slobs in high-rise blocks who'd have to invest in a parachute.
I've lived high up in a couple of blocks and there was always the nagging thought at the back of my mind "How do I get out in a fire?"
After 9/11 I'd have definitely bought a chute if I'd still been living high up.
HEY, I wonder how many office workers in high buildings have got a chute stowed in their locker nowadays?

The ugly brown table in the laundry room

That bottle of weird-smelling shampoo I've been trying to use up

My collection of unsorted leftover screws, bolts, nails and potentially useful hardware thingamabobs.
