I am not much to give advice, it depends more on what your tastes are. Only thing I can say is get a licensed contractor if you are not doing it yourself. Get a few estimates but don't sign anything until you have researched the company.

Use smaller tiles (2.5" to 3" squares) for the floor rather than the lager ones (6"-12"). The grout lines will give you all the grip you need unless you totally spray it down with the intent to go skating.
