I've said it before: In my more misanthropic moments, I sometimes wish McCain had won in '08 -- not because I think the country would have been better off but because I wouldn't have had to spend eight fucking years listening to ignorant anti-Obama rants by working-class GOP Bubbas. If those pricks had been forced to really own the Bush years they gave us, maybe we would have been spared our current presidential monstrosity.

It was the "working class Bubbas" in the rust belt and coal states who hadn't voted for a Republican president in 30 years that put Barack Odummer in the White House for two terms. The Dems lost them to President Trump because the dumb fucks capaigned on their obsession with identity politics rather than campaigning on bringing back jobs to those areas they once held. Hurricane Harvey brings mass devastation to Texas and stupid shits on the left want to make headlines out of President Trump's hat and Melania's shoes. No wonder the libtarded fuckers lose elections.

What I, personally, find amusing about Obama-Trump voters is that they overwhelmingly expressed concerns regarding the economic policies of the dem platform. They felt that it favored the wealthy. This is a platform which had been shifting rightward in an effort to win voters...and so, responding to that "economic anxiety" over right leaning policies they.....wait for it.........voted for the GOP.  



This begs the question, were their "economic anxieties" a smoke screen for something else, are they really that dumb, or some combination thereof? I doubt that any poll could answer that one for us, what with their known propensity to lie to pollsters..and, clearly, themselves.

Carrier jobs are not coming back, coal is not only outdated, but machines have replaced humans in any case, so those jobs are not coming back either. And because of things like Amazon and online ordering retail jobs are not as widely needed. 

The problem isn't Obama, the problem is your fucking party selling old utopias instead of investing in the future.

Good long term policy is keeping wages up that meet cost of living. Good economic policy is that when technology gets old you move away from it and invest in new technology. 

If we always did what the GOPEE wanted cars would still suck like they did back in the 1970s with no seat belts or air bags.

If we went by the Modern GOP policy back during the race to get to the moon, our rockets would fail like modern North Korea.

Of course, remember overhead, the cost of keeping the factory itself, would have to be involved in the cost. Granted, I can't be sure it would add up to 50 cents per cap, and without access to one of the financial statements for the sweatshops involved, I wouldn't know, but still, there's more to manufacturing cost than labor and parts.
