I didn't hate the episode I did watch, but the name, not getting that.

It seems to be a spoof of Star Trek, so why not call it something like "Star Wreck?"

"The Orville" I don't get.

Seth McFarlane said it's after Orville Wright.  And it's in the tradition of naming Star Trek ships after American flight and/or ship history.

Ok, got it. Meh, "Orville" seems more apt for a documentary not a comedy.

But now I understand the meaning, thanks.

It's not even as funny as his animated series.

Orville is a little more on the serious side, actually, and I suppose that's why I like it.

I only opened this thread because I thought it was about the green duck.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Seems like historically every time some Christians get their feathers ruffled we get another schism.

How much more emphasis do we need on the fact Jesus message was grossly confusing, vague, unspecific, and open to endless debates ??

Jesus Fucking Christ, we fucking know it's a nonspecific and chaotic doctrine he foisted on all of you, but aren't 70,000 schisms E-fucking-NUFF to make the fucking point ???

WE GET IT !!!

Truth time - how far into the video did you make it?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
