You told Wilbur?

I've so far seen the first episode. Somewhat funny kind of cool. Since I'm a completist with these things, it will take me a while to get to the episode the OP is talking about.

But now I understand the meaning, thanks.

It's not even as funny as his animated series.

Orville is a little more on the serious side, actually, and I suppose that's why I like it.

I just finally found time to watch it, and I agree. It reminds me of Tos mixed with TNG. It has spots of utter sillyness, but it was also surprisingly serious. I liked it more than Ithought I would. It really does feel more like ST than the new one on CBS.

love the show, seems to hit the ground running hopefully he/mcfarlane can manage to keep up with the whole space explorer theme and not turn the show into a big preachy american dad and family guy mess.

I've also been surprised by the show and I'm enjoying it so far. I agree with others, there is a feel (and a lot of nods) to TNG.

Oooo they really went for religion in the last episode and Krill's god

reminds a lot like God from the Bible.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I wonder how long it's going to take for the Christians to complain about that episode.

Television isn't mentioned in the bible, I find myself puzzled why True Christians would ever watch it.

The newest episode Majority Rule is really interesting and scary; resembling a Black Mirror episode.

The basic premise is government by American Idol where there is no democracy or structure of formal law; rather, people dish out justice through a voting point system where the majority decides what happens.
