Thoughts on Hell?
|
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
Btw, this guy's as much a nun as I am sexually desirable.

Disclaimer: I am only responsible for what I say, not what you choose to understand.
My thoughts on Hell? Simple: it scuppers the free-will argument.
Hell: Being stuck at a young earth creationist convention and not having some way to reduce their population.
Hell: A Catholic priest surrounded by choirboys and their cop parents. Hell: Jesus nailed to a cross with itchy balls. Hell: Islam Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"
"Never trust a fox. Looks like a dog, behaves like a cat."

I'm not sure how you could believe that a person isn't responsible for their actions and then reap the consequences. God says He desires no one to perish, this would eliminate your idea that God makes them chose hell. People who find themselves in hell will recognize it as what they created for themselves. God has made a place for people to live in their own hell, a lonely place where no one will see another, yet will be able to hear the self made suffering of all who are there. This will be an eternal place placed far from God's saved ones so we want have to hear or see such suffering. GC (October 11, 2017 at 10:14 am)Homeless Nutter Wrote: I don't worry about Hell. I heard that a magical Jew was murdered long time ago, so that we can all go to Heaven. If it ever again seems likely, that we might go to Hell - we'll just sacrifice another wizard, or something... You like me have already killed Him, accepting what one has done and asking forgiveness for the actions that caused this death will bring an eternal redemption. GC (October 11, 2017 at 11:13 am)Industrial Lad Wrote: Infinite punishment isn't just because there's no such thing as infinite wrongdoing. At some point your suffering would be equal to the suffering you caused. It's not about causing suffering, you can't cause God to suffer anymore. It is about rejecting the One who suffered for you so you wouldn't spend an eternity in hell. You sin against an eternal omnipresent God and any sin that isn't forgiven last forever and thus your suffering will last forever. GC (October 11, 2017 at 11:21 am)Astreja Wrote: Yes, people often behave badly. I wouldn't go so far as to call that hell, though, because whatever pain others cause eventually comes to an end. You better have proof of that statement. Just exactly why would Christianity need to have a scare tactic, what would be the purpose. Christians declare a truth to those who have chosen not to believe, that's reality not a scare tactic. Still heartless I see. GC
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
