Ok... it seems that the consensus is that Mithraism didn't become poplular until about the mid 1st century.    Is this discovery changing that?   Is it now thought to be more extensive earlier?
If I am remembering correctly it is thought to be some speculation of differences between the Mithra found much earlier in Egypt (and of which we know little about, since there isn't written records), and the later Greek mystery religionm which became popular.

Well ideas baby,

strange birth,
redemption and renewal,
death and resurrection.

An idea prevalent around the same time of Messianism.

Accepted by the the Romans,

Prevalent around the Roman world, from my country to Palestine.

Only really died out post Constantine.

Athronges

Simon Bar Kokhbah

etc:

Great stories, of which yours is one further un-evidenced one, except you really believe it and I am really not sure.

Another criticism, along with the fact that mystery religions where not really found in Palestine at the time, is that there is a tendency among supporters of mysticism to collectionize the mystery religions and make them one. And then compare any point that is similar to Christianity.

I am guessing this is much like a number of arguments for evolution, where if you squint just right, these things look similar enough, and then you only look at what fits, and deny what does not.

A far simpler explanation and one that actually matches history, is that Christianity came out of and is based on Judaism.

So it seems that reading comprehension is not one of your strengths.  You know what?  I doubt you could handle the whole book.  Your head would explode.

If your argument was strong, I would think you would go with that, rather than trying to make things about me.

This does seem like a good place for the arguement from silence.... since you won’t talk about it.... you must not know!

I don't think you get it.  Your apparent inability to comprehend what Carrier wrote in the OP tells me that you are akin to a creationist demanding to see evidence of a crocoduck.

You are starting to remind me of Ken Ham.

So, would you agree then, with what seems to be the view of the majority of historians, that their is virtually no evidence to support this view?

You can keep up the stupid act all you like.  I'm starting to realize that you aren't acting.
