Also, there's so much for one to possibly learn, one hardly has the time to be properly educated in all areas (one of the major issues with the U.S. education system, thinking everyone needs to be well-rounded in all subjects).

I will dumb it down for you. Spain was formed from Leon, Asturias and Castille, with the condate of Catalonia, back in the time people fought wars with mostly swords.

Lately there is a great tension in Spain due to the tax difference in the catalonia region, comparing to the capital region, Madrid. this has sparked a disagreement, that the 'federal' gvt acted worse by repression of an already deemed illegal referendum.

Anyway, it doesn't involve Trump or the US, there is no oil in catalonia, so y'all can rest asleep tightly, no danger to your homeland, no profit to be forfeit.

I get that. US news even prevail here, after our local stuff, and I love to see the news guy/girl trying to perform serious news from the POTUS. It's almost like he is reading the news and there is a nasty cameraman playing "stare"..

OFC most people here are from the US. In Portugal we are fleecing the GVT because of the Wildfires that took many lives and the clear failure of the governance to deal wih the extended summer due to drought. I can understand the July wildfires that took many lives, but the minister should know that in the autumn there hasn't been any rain and we lost more people to the fires, and she removed fire combat and terrain forces, to save money. More people died.

So yeah, apologies to all offended, but USians only look at themselves. Unless there is profit outside.

I barely even consider myself a USian. I may have been born here, but I rarely pay attention to local news and I am zero percent patriotic. Your discontent with the US is understandable; most of the time I wish I didn't live here.
