I meant to say that even on surface evolution is creepy. Mechanical and mindless evolution created hardwiring for survival at first and then people who wish to live eternally.

It's not so much hard-wiring as the way things get sorted and culled from one generation to another.  Things that aren't particularly good at surviving will generally die off, leaving predominantly things that are good at surviving.

The desire to survive isn't directly attributable to evolution; it's more the result of sentience and self-awareness (and particularly the result of realizing that death exists).

Good point Astreja.
Evolution is not even aware that things are alive! How the fuck can it hard wire for it...

If you are made of matter and occupy space in this universe, then you are either dead matter, or with the right mixture of molecules and time, you are living matter.
No difference to the universe, it couldn't give a shit if it tried... Dunno
No God, No fear.

What makes you think that the human mind is any more complex than the mind of a Dolphin?

Give me an example of when you have communicated with someone over a mile away without using a mobile phone or computer.

Shouting loudly does not count Smile

Actually it does, rather, because it's about the propagation of soundwaves. Shouting loudly is in effect what dolphins do.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

How about expressing a political opinion in a most vigorous manner, say with a .50 cal. machine gun?

Do you write on the bullet or leave it open to splatter pattern interpretation?

A mechanical and mindless force that we can't see permeating the Universe, keeping whole stars, planets and galaxies from flying apart, and only waiting for one slip of the foot on a high ledge to hurl us to a sticky, messy death?

Gravity doesn't fuck mind with painful fears about hell, humans do with their wild imagination.

Why are you only considering humans when discussing evolution?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

That would be up to forensics.
