Religious claims that get under your skin

Presuppositionalism is a travesty of logic, and once you fall into it, no one else can help you out of it, because you pulled the hole in after you on your way down. You have to dig yourself out or stay buried, and I've never encountered someone who's actually come back from Presuppositionalism.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
Those who think they can speak for me (I usually tell them they're not qualified to do that).
"It's just a theory". "You can't have any morals" "What bad thing happened to you as a child that made you turn away from god?" So many others... Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"

My favorite is when people claim that god is, essentially, unknowable, but then they decide to speak for it, including the motivations behind what it may or may not be doing at this very instant.

A big one for me:
That my disability is part of god's plan, and that I'm meant for some sort of special purpose/destiny because of it. It's the height of insulting bullshit, designed to make the person saying it comfortable. I'd much rather be able to stand, walk, piss, shit, eat, etc. on my own, thanks. |
