Of course it would, it's only ever existed in the minds of humans anyway. God wasn't an issue when T-rex was knocking around. The only point to God (as it has always been) is to fill in gaps in the Knowledge of human beings.
Unfortunately there is always going to be a space for God to exploit as we will never know how or why everything exists, but thankfully that space has decreased sufficiently for God to be of no concern to a growing number of people.
