Can you elaborate.

Sure Smile We've described 'God', 'miracles', and 'magic', therefore they are things (that we know about). Maybe we've never seen them before... but they are as much a thing to me as China.

There could also possibly be things that we do not know about (ie: the 'New World' before its discovery).

+1.

It must be noted, Evie: concepts exist.

The solipsists, for all of their flaws about the self being the only knowable thing, are at least correct when they note that all can easily be a delusion of the mind, that even their own existence is known because of a concept (of self).

I don't believe God exists. I don't believe miracles exist. I don't believe magic exists.
How is this not a contradiction?
Because I don't believe God, miracles or magic are things. That's why they don't exist.
Everything exists because there's no such thing as a non-existent thing. Because to exist, is to be something, is to be a thing.

Existence is a state of being, and therefore a thing.

So what you are basically saying is that every thing is a thing.

What matters is what kind of thing it is, be it physical, conceptual or non-contingent.

Physical things are things made of matter and/or energy. Physical things can give rise to conceptual things.

Concepts are models of non-contingent and/or physical things. A concept's existence has no bearing on whether or not the physical or non-contingent thing to which it refers exists. Mathematics is a pure concept, Ball is a concept of something physical and God is a concept of the non-contingent.

Non-contingent things are things like the logical absolutes, intrinsic values and gods. Some non-contingent things are necessarily true, like the law of non-contradiction, or any tautology, where as some non-contingent things are only concepts of possibly non-contingent things, like Intrinsic values and gods.

To which I say to the silly solipsists who believe that premise (not the one's who acknowledge the possibility):

If this is a delusion or just imagination, do you not feel like like a complete twat for not being able to come up with something more interesting?

First of all I must say that I might not know what I am talking about.

With things or as you say non things like magic I think you can say that they are concepts and exist as such.

So magic is not real, its a concept and because people give it power by practising it or tyring to disprove it it exists as such.

With space it exists, its all mater, I think I heard someone sasy that antimater is also mater.

Time is I believ a concept, not mater, it exists because we have invented it and we measure it by clocks, so clocks exist as mater but not time.

On the other hand Budhists say that the true nature of everything is emptines. If there aare any Budhists I would invite them to explain their concept of emptines.

Thanks
