hehe.. I like this idea that I'm too young... please stick to this version!!! Tongue

but back to the thread about the movies... i've just remembered about "Beautiful Mind"
and some movies based on Marvel Comics....  I recently watched DeadPool and Wonder Woman..

Might be a good idea to stick to pop movies here.

But even with pop movies, a crapload of them even as "R" movies, are violent and disturbing.

"Dead Pool" yea, the title stolen from the Dirty Harry cop movie series. Youngens might not know one of Jim Cary's first major acting gigs was in a Dirty Harry movie named "The Dead Pool" in which he played a rock star drug addict. Liam Neeson who played later, Oscar Schindler was also in that movie.

Still don't like fava beans, though.

I still remember the Pianist and the music from this movie .... just fabulous!
"Alone is what I have. Alone protects me."
“I may be on the side of the angels but don’t think for one second that I am one of them.”
“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery each day."

That's another fantastic movie.

Although I wouldn't say it inspired me. But then, neither did Toy Story Tongue

I just realized I have pretty much been listing some of my favorite movies, rather than any inspirational ones. Although I don't think any work of fiction has ever inspired me. Only non-fiction has.

Forrest Gump. How could that not inspire the viewer, I ask you?

Thanks for reminding me of one of my favorite movies!

It's certainly inspirational, but wasn't to me, because it didn't tell me anything I didn't already know.

Beautiful movie and absolute masterpiece though, and I've probably been closer to crying more times with that movie than any other movie. And I've probably watched it more times than any other movie.

That movie bored the shit out of me. I never liked it.

But, I have to give it credit. I did a great Forest Gump impression in my college days. I met my X-wife's friend first, and was telling her jokes to the point she told my X "You got to meet this guy, he is funny." So one day I ended up meeting them in the cafeteria at lunch time. Had them all laughing the entire meal. Went for desert, came back with a bowl of soft serve frozen yogurt, chocolate/vanilla.

Anyhwo, looked directly at my(future girlfriend/wife) and in a Forest Gump voice said, "You think I'd make a great husband but you wont eat my ice cream." She laughed so hard I thought she was going to choke on her food. Big Grin

So even though I hated that movie, it literally had an impact on my life, in a good way, even though the marriage didn't last.

Forest Gump is my all time favorite movie. I don't see it much as inspiration though.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
