Oh but it will stop considering the rate of the destruction of wildlife - especially now with Trump in charge. But you do understand there are lots of reasons of not eating meat? Although when it comes to compassion I remember reading in Asimov's autobiography "In Memory Not Yet Green" how during WW2 he was on a vacation in the country side (Asimov was working in US during ww2) and there he promised himself he'll never eat meat after he witnessed a mother cow crying while her calf was being dragged to slaughter, but then in next sentence he noted that he is a hypocrite because at the very moment he returned to the city he started eating meat. Only to kind of regret it years later in his "I. Asimov", which he wrote shortly before his death, where he wrote how he had this serious heart condition and all because he ate greasy and salty food. Now if he stick to his earlier promise he might have lived longer.
But also if one is a meat eater do you eat meat at every meal and every day? Do meat eaters have any constraints like not eating at Mcdonalds or any other junk food?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

You might as well ask the same about rocks. Plants, for the most part, aren't interactive in the ways by which we accept that people or other animals have feelings.
Quote: Even if they don't, they're still living things. And humans are natural omnivores, it's true that we accomplished many things which we weren't naturally supposed to, but is it good to surpress our need of meat and other animal products?
You haven't demonstrated that we do need meat and other animal products. In fact, the number of healthy vegans out there make it pretty clear that animal products are NOT necessary for human survival.

Even if all Canadian men stopped raping girls, there will still be other rapists, so the rape of girls will never stop.

"We" do. You may not, I may not, some of us could eat alot less of it, but livestock production is a necessity of human life and will be for as long as people require incomes, nutrition, or non ff based fertility. Ruminant production is simply the best use of mildly arid or otherwise inarable land. That's why there are so many cattle out west. It's difficult to grow beans and greens. I suspect that at least one of those three qualifiers will always be true somewhere.
I like to imagine a future world in which meat becomes a comparative rarity, and the types of meat available drastically shift to animals we can densely stack vertically as well as horizontally without incurring difficult ethical objections. Meat as a by-product of sustainable agriculture. The economics just don't work at present, and I could bitch to high heaven about that being a product, to some extent, of objectionable practices, poor long term decision making, and unreasonable consumer expectations..but it's important to understand why we raise livestock. I think that it's a great irony that an ethically vegan world would necessarily depend on ethical livestock production. The only alternative is to drill, baby drill...and how much suffering do we think we'll reduce in doing that? Little commented upon fact, human conflict amounts to a local extinction event for wildlife, and human conflict over oil (and human use of oil) has amounted to a global extinction event.
Any thorough discussion of a more ethical food production system has to include a significant reduction of petrochemicals, an allowance for the extermination or exclusion of pest species, and a means of bringing this production model to the poorest of us. Once that context is set as the framework, much of what we take for granted, even as vegans or vegetarians, is no longer valid or even remotely ethical.
(there are animal products in your computer, you certainly needed them to type your response. )

Let's not make this about vegans then. Let's just picture the Whole earth.
There are Waters with fish and creatures under the water
There are mountains and fields and forests with living creations of God
There are human beings created in the Image of God and have dominion over the Animals on whole earth. To do what?
To enslave these beings? To take away their children, their feeling of being an animal - they are seen as FOOD.
I'v been 1 year vegan and I regret starting an unhealthy lifestyle again now that I eat mean too :
I hope they could forgive me... Cause we don't need that much to live..
80% of all the vegetables created are being used to feed the population of prison-animals. Humans use up 80% of all yield of vegetation and use it to feed animals and realize not the defects and disabilities that this unhealthy meat is causing in us.
Fat foods and processed meats result in cancer, diabetes, other diseases. Many of these industry-used farms feed their animals with Pills and antibiotics to keep animals alive.
This Antibiotics enter your stomach dude. Where is the common sense in that

What?
If The Flintstones have taught us anything, it's that pelicans can be used to mix cement.

The meat itself isn't doing anything to us other than feeding us and providing us with an income. That we expend so much of our productive capacity feeding animals is a consequence of how cheaply we produce those other products. 9.4 grams of premium feed cost less than a single ounce of tilapia. I'd have to be a fool not to feed them...and I'd be a broke fool, with malnourished pet fish, on top of that.

-Processed- meat is a byproduct...it's mostly salt and fat and sugar. OFC it's not good for us, but it's still delicious. The presence of antibiotics is a necessity of economy and biology but it shouldn't give you too much concern. Case in point, it's illegal here in the US to sell meat with antibiotic residue present. For some species of livestock, and in some applications..that means we can't use any antibiotics at all. I can't, for example. I wish there was still a processor here..but they all got shuttered during the drought (and they were geared for trout)..I'd make more money on volume...but, otoh, they make fish sticks. Which are mostly cellulose and salt. I have been looking into processed tail meat (prawn) from open ponds, though. Cash crop. Unfortunately, the fuckers are eager cannibals and I don't have the space to keep them from eating each other at present.

No, they don't. The only way that would happen is if many people in the production chain broke the law. Don't get me wrong, people do, but not all of them all at once and not that often.

I avoid fast food unless I'm in a hungry corner.
I eat meat with most meals, but over the last five years have certainly migrated my dining from beef perhaps three nights a week to beef twice or three times a month. Most of that meat intake has been replaced with chicken, though I'd eat the hell out of pork if it wasn't so unfriendly to my heart.
I might go one day a month with no meat at all.
I've got no problem with vegetarians or vegans, so long as they aren't evangelistas. If I have vegetarians over for company I will happily cook up vegetarian dishes for them. Vegans are assed-out, 'cause I ain't cooking without some butter.

I eat junk food with every ocasion I get ( in Romania it s like a thing to eat shaworma , mc or kfc ) and meat every day, seriously I can't imagine a meal without meat ( I really don t like boiled or fried vegetables very much). After all I'm young and I'm drinking and smoking like a nut job but if not now then when ? This is for now , if I can't buy meat I won't eat meat. I could never be capable of killing an animal.
But mostly I agree with @Khemikal, most people want a change but they don't think about the aftermath.

Slightly related to the topic, I am a vegetarian, and I've tried to explain my reasons for that on my website:
