Me too. And I'm not going to find beauty in the fact that that is not something currently within our power. I have nothing but contempt for the platitude that death is what gives our lives meaning. Involuntary death SUCKS and it is ridiculous to try and sugarcoat it and pretend that it isn't.

That is probably the biggest reason while most people can't handle atheism. Some of us just don't have a choice, though. We are incapable of deluding ourselves into believing there is an after-life waiting for us but also incapable of embracing the idiotic platitude that involuntary death is pretty.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I'm OK with achieving immortality in memory.  The stories are always better than the man. I was fortunate enough to be grated the opportunity to make my peace with death as a young man, lol.

The point is, we are just a couple centuries to put our minds in a computer (maybe even less), and we will die before it happens. Its infuriating. Back in the day we had to accept we would die. Now we have to accept we wont live long enough to have the chance to live indefinitely. It hurts.
