Trascending through time

I think it's better to look for purpose in oneself, in the present moment.  That's where we actually live, after all.

That doesn't work for someone like OP. Note that he said, "I think that nobody, at least those who truly dream, ever see their dreams become real."

By future generations I mean everyone, not my own kids. It wouldnt be fair if I indoctrinate my own children.

The main idea behind what I said is to give life purpose, and to accept death more easily.

Yes, everything will end eventually, but is about what we did before disappearing. As individual, and as a group.

I guess I'm an anomaly, then -- the vast majority of my dreams line up with rather practical and possible things and regularly become real.  The same things that prevent me from developing religious faith also prevent me from putting too much stock in flights of pure fancy.

Atheists worship physical science like a religion.
Science says that energy never die so to speak but consciousness is made of energy so why atheists believe in permanent death?
This only shows how atheism is full of contradictions.

When I break down a table, it is no longer a table.  But the stuff in it didn't just vanish.

When the body breaks down, it is no longer me.  It is the stuff that my body was made up of.

Not hard.

Two Points

1. Your post was just a quote of the post before it with no new information.
2. General anesthetics take consciousness to oblivion... what makes you think death can't do the same?

.
Sorry Ben but your confusion is way way out of control.
It doesn’t really matter whether your body is alive or dead.
Your body is not you anyway.
When you enter your vehicle you understand very well that you are not the car.
Your body is a vehicle that you need to travel from small consciousness to big consciousness.
That s it Benny.
When the vehicle rot away that doesn’t mean that you also rot away beside you are an abstract entity.
Have you ever seen a dead consciousness next to a dead body?
You can’t Benny because consciousness is abstract by nature which means that it is outside human senses.
Considering also that consciousness is energy at different level of awareness then is obviously that it can not die.

And then there's me! You are a beautiful dream to me and, last I checked, you are real! You can dream in practicalities all you want! But, there's one thing that I am not--for sure! And that is "practical"! However, I am possible and regularly real! There is this male thing but, don't worry about that! Do you deny that I exist? Let's fly away pure fancy baby!
My girlfriend thinks I'm a stalker. Well...she's not my girlfriend "yet".

I discovered a new vitamin that fights cancer. I call it ...B9

I also invented a diet pill. It works great but had to quit taking it because of the side effects. Turns out my penis is larger and my hair grew back. And whoa! If you think my hair is nice!

When does size truly matter? When it's TOO big!

I'm currently working on a new pill I call "Destenze". However...now my shoes don't fit.

I hate doing that but I have no choices.
At the moment I am far away from home and my computer so I am using an i pad that I am not familiar with which cause me to mess up the posts.

Sure.
As far as your consciousness is stuck inside your body is obvious that when your body is in trouble also your consciousness will be unable to perform as it should.
However once the consciousness leaves your dead body then she will be free and perform totally different.
The same happens when you leave your rotting vehicle.

What evidence do you have/line of reasoning do you use to support these claims? We talkin' Descartes here?
