Why keep a vice president around, who was appointed by someone worthy of impeachment?

Why keep a vice president around, who was appointed by someone worthy of impeachment?
The main argument I hear against impeaching someone like Trump, or Bush, or whatever, is that then we have whatever dipshit this guy picked as a vice president. Why? Why not the other major candidate of the rival party? Pence could be worse than Trump, mainly because he won't feel the need to go on a tweet storm, or have propaganda documents delivered to him every day to make himself feel better. But why keep him around at all? Why wouldn't he be promptly impeached as well?

That's just guilt by association

You think Pence is better than Trump?

There's that, and the VP was duly elected. Yes, when you vote for president, you're casting a vote for two offices. I think each should be elected separately, or throw the primaries open, then make the first runner up vice president.

Can you imagine Capitol Hill with Trump as Commander in Chief and Hillary as the VP?!? Big Grin Pande-fucking-monium.

On a more serious note, I wonder if it would make the average voter a little more conscious of the possible ramifications of their vote under a system like that.

He is worse than Trump id take Trump over Pence taking his place....
Even if they Impeachment process does work they should go after the VP first before the president.

Pence is smarter and more polished, and thus more dangerous. Granted, he's also an idiot. He's about as charismatic as a bowl of oatmeal though.  Trump is charismatic  to certain people, one of the common denominator is that they don't research actual facts about things.

They can impeach the vice president too, ya know. That would mean Paul Ryan becomes president. Despite most Atheistforums people predicting a massive Republican collapse every 35 seconds, it's Republicans the whole way down.

Best case scenario, Dems take back the house, impeach Trump and Pence, and we get President Pelosi, making Republicans gnaw and gash at everything. I don't even particularly like Pelosi, but if it'd make the Republicans seeth... I mean that's what they did to us with Donald FUCKING Trump. The scumbag con artist. So fuck them, fuck them hard with a rusty sledgehammer. President Pelosi in 2019.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.
