Analysis of the Bible (Starting from beginning)

RE: Analysis of the Bible (Starting from beginning)
MK, I think you have a great idea here. Might I suggest a change to the format?

Do a different thread for every book of the Bible. Allow time for commentary before moving on.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Please don't ask him to draw this shit out.

MK, just rank each chapter/book with 1 thru 10 and move on.

If done properly, AFFT47's idea could be quite fruitful.

Hey MK, imagine how much smarter you'd be if you read more computer science books instead?

If the author of the book meant harm and wrote harmful directions; I think he loses all kinds of authenticity and thus: he and his book should be avoided immediately.
Holy books are not the same, they differ in their context and meanings. With more readings in them; tendency to pick one increase, or pick none, it depends on who you are.

We go to religion in the first place, because we lost all hope in humanity. So we need another non-human source. A God. If holy books like the Quran hurt some, they mean a lot to some others. So an atheist might have a bad experience with the holy text; but another disagrees.

Actually I believe it is even intended for life to be this way.

The Bible should be coming from the same source; but twisted and forged at the hands of ancient people. So it does contain the word of God; but it's mixed with dreams of the ancients.
If reading it hurt many; those many should not lose expectations in another book coming from the same source.

How a thread like this ought to be done is in a more participatory manner. The OP would post the actual text of the first chapter in a given book. Then we heathens would quote it and tear it to shreds. Then the next chapter would be posted in three days and the process would repeat. Call the thread "Atheist Bible Study" or something like that. And of course theists like MK, could give their own interpretations and such.

An analysis of Genesis in the manner the OP is performing it might be better received on a Christian forum.
