Does atheism oppose the world religions?

RE: Does atheism oppose the world religions?
Quote:So, one can finally conclude what atheism is: it is having the Nonexistent Loving God, so an atheist feels free today to love and tomorrow to reject love's existence. Am I right?

Wrong on so many levels!

1) atheism is not any of those things...
2) fallacy ... what has a loving god got to do we US rejecting love? (non seq)
3) one cannot finally conclude anything from a non existent god
4) You're going to a lot a trouble thinking you can poof your god into existence with bad logic
5) get some fresh socks ---
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.

You are not right.  For an atheist like me does not simply remove the existence from god but removes the very description a theist would describe to the god he believes in. So that God becomes a being wothout any attributes, a word with no meaning, and therefore non existent. i debate people about god for I think that the superstition that comes with believing in that thing without any attributes is dangerous for humanity.
What is it you most dislike? Stupidity, especially in its nastiest forms of racism and superstition.”

100% chance that this guy posts once more, saying graciously that he's busy but will eventually answer everyone's posts, and then disappear forever from these forums.

Just out of curiosity, what's your opinion on the ontological argument for God's existence?

What the fuck you going on about?

Atheism isn't a unified belief system. It's a single belief shared by lots of different people. So Atheism doesn't oppose or not oppose anything, other than theism. There are left wing Atheists who like Islam (for reasons I can never comprehend) and those who oppose it and those that just don't really care.

On the other hand most religions are opposed to Atheism. Since if Atheists are right (spoiler alert: we are) the total fraud of what they all have been doing for so long is exposed.

I strongly believe that every theist needs to examine their own religion through the lens of Atheism. It'll pretty quickly become horrific on many many levels.

More a meditation than proof. It presupposes that reality is intelligible which seems to be a point of contention on AF.

You can go bigger than that.... I have little doubt that you would succeed in such a battle of reason, but on the bright side, if you lost; then it is inconsequential if the money given for the bet actually exists.
