Admitting You're a Sinner

RE: Admitting You're a Sinner
Still don't get why people feel satisfied by 'admitting their sins.' The only explanation I can think of is that they've been brainwashed from the start, in which case I get what you mean.
The word bed actually looks like a bed.

I just think it's funny that an entity that cannot abide sinners sure does create a lot of them.

Or because they may be emotionally vulnerable and were told of the "Good News" (Jesus saves), and because they had no other hope were willing to give it up for Jesus, even if it means admitting that they're sinners. In fact, for me, the "Good News" is what motivated me to "admit my sins" and become a "Jesus Christ follower" for a while. And as you can guess, I was emotionally vulnerable back then ... and scientifically ignorant as well (but that's another story).

I don't have to do much admitting. The christians around me are more than ready to admit my sins for me.

CL: Are all faults then sins??? If not morally perfect are you a sinner? Are urges without actions sins? If so that would be awfully judgmental and condemning.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

1. Sin is the religious term for immoral act

2. Yes

3. No
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I think it says in the bible that they are. Something about looking at a woman is committing adultery in one's heart.

They might argue that this is acting upon the urge by looking.

There's also one about hatred being equal to murder.

Hahaha

Of course, we both know that doesn't fly in the face of omniscience, even the weak kind Steve tends to champion. Even if god doesn't know our actions and choices before we make them, he can still presumably extrapolate from past data. Makes one wonder if a less than 50% success rate in that department should be considered the work of a supremely moral being given the purported consequences faced by the failures....

The urge itself, the sexual attraction, is not a sin because it is involuntary. It becomes a sin when you proceed to gawk at her and fantasize about having sex with her. That is an action.
