But overall declaring the Nazi's socalist as an organization is simply false . And certainly calling modern Neo nazi's leftist because they are not free market conservatives is just silly .

"National Socialism" is like "Military Music". It's a special case.

Lol. No offense ment, but it's healthy to have discussions with people who disagree with you.

I agree, CL. But sometimes people are just delusional... see Victory 123's thread for a fine example...

Right.  One is giving the State of the Union address right now!

They were purged in June of 1934, as Hitler consolidated power. But they were there.

It's rather quite the reverse. They were more leftist earlier in their party history. To be sure, there were certainly early rightists such as Ludendorff et al, and the leftist strain of NaZiism never succeeded in controlling the party, but before 1927-28, they certainly had a voice in the party platform.

Okay, consider me corrected. I was referring to the groups of men who would meet very early on, when their racial theories were first developed. But I'm hardly knowledgeable about it. I working off the History Channel here. And you know what that means...

Sure, the racial element was present right at the beginning -- and really, long before that. The NaZis were the (il)logical conclusion of centuries of anti-Semitism in Europe.

No, it's folly to engage in political debates with strangers or near strangers online. IRL is different but nobody ever changed anyone else's mind about their political views by engaging in a Facebook argument or commenting on a newspaper article.

I read conservative websites and magazines/ newspapers that aren't in line with my own views but I generally avoid the below the line comments and social media debates, which are frequently nonsensical, shouty and factually inaccurate.

The problem i always find is people don't want any nuisance when discussing the Nazi's . it's the general belief some held by some that  one brand of politics inspired them. When it was many brands that did. And the fact they borrowed idea's( as all political ideologies do) from an Ideology does not make them that specific ideology.

Hell in the 1920 Nazi platform i can see plenty of stuff that sounds like Trump America first doctrine . Does that alone make Trump a Nazi ? No having some similarities in policy does not make two political ideologies the same .

Or on violence one could argue that because ISIS holds socially conservative views . Does that make Republican party like ISIS ?

Sure. And in pointing out the socialist strain in NaZiism, I'm not trying to argue that they were socialist. They adopted thse ideas in the 20s precisely to hook the fish in from the seas. Strasser and others took that line of thinking seriously ... but they got killed for it.

The nationalists in that party won that battle. It's a warning to us all.
