I find nothing that indicates Page under surveillance for years. If you have a link post it please. Everything I am reading indicates he came under 'surveillance' after joining Trump election team - possibly AFTER leaving the Campaign effort. 
Everything I'm reading and hearing indicates that this is political spin. Big on innuendo, small on details and facts.

The release of this highly politicized memo is damning..but only to the trumpsters..because it's a story of the fbi functioning properly and being ignored, and now...obstructed..and villified.

The memo itself - try reading yourself instead of relying on Breitbart for a change - specifically notes in Paragraph 5) that the FBI's Russia investigation began as a result of George Papadopoulos running his fucking mouth.

The real irony here, is that trump is an idiot who probably obstructed justice not to cover up his own personal collusion in any election rigging or acting as a foreign agent..that's just who he found himself surrounded with. He obstructed justice because he knew that, in the course of an investigation, hios being up to his eyeballs in russian money laundering would invariably come out in the wash, along with the fact that he's committed repeated fraud and massively inflated his actual wealth (though I'm sure he's much richer today than he was before he became potus..because he's always been a grifty piece of shit who doesn't pay his bills).
He's been telegraphing it the entire time, and may as well have told the fbi where to look for the bodies. In the process of doing -that-...he became a foreign asset. President Good Brain, who picks the very best people, and makes the sweetest deals. Believe me.
