A few years back, at the Catholic Church where I play the organ for Mass, we had a priest who was distributing child pornography and may have done much more.  He's in jail.
I was really sickened because I thought the guy was ok - for a witch doctor.  The Bishop was removed from his post by the Pope for trying to cover this up.

And it's not just the Catholics.  I can't even count the number of Protestant preachers - just in my first 18 years of life - that were sent to other churches for molesting children, rape, adultery, domestic violence, etc.  I'll never forget the preacher who got 5 girls in my 7th grade class pregnant.  (Thankfully, I wasn't one of them.)

I'm not even convinced the powers that be in the catholic church are sorry or remorseful for enabling child rapists for so long. They probably wish the victims would just shut up and go away.

They're not sorry, not even the "liberal, modernising" Junta Pope. It's just that instead of shieling priests in the west they're now mainly shielding them in Latin America and Afrca.

And they only stopped their western aiding and abetting because it got too big to hide (though they are still refusing to pony up for the victims of their crimes, of the derisorily small percentage of the then estimated 1bn Euro compenswtion to victims the then fianna fail government obliged them to pay up guess how much has been paid 20 years later? My mother left the Catholic church in her late 50s (I couldn't believe it!) because our parish priest was caught fucking one of the worst pedophiles in the priesthood. Who knows what else they did together. He wasn't even defrocked, just moved around, and that was in 2012 Or something, after the church supposedly reformed this. Bunch of lying boyfuckers.

Can't get much closer to home than that. We literally had him over to dinner, although I had left the church and was an Atheist by then anyway.

I used to live near Buffalo, NY and, while looking through The Buffalo News today, found out that one of my family's parish priests was raping young boys for many years. He worked at St. Mary of the Angels Church in 1982-1983 and another nearby parish for a few years after that.
They show his photo in the article and I remember this prick.

I went to catholic schools ages 4-17, including St. Mary's parish school while this rapist was there.
Sometimes the priests would come over from their rectory to visit classrooms. Much deference was paid to a parish priest who was walking through the halls. Everyone would get quiet and treat him like a VIP.
We were giving deference to a fucking child rapist!

I don't know the ultimate disposition of this rapist's case because I can't bear to read the news stories. It makes me sick.

My 4 younger brothers also went to this school and church. One of my brothers was an altar boy. Now I need to start some awkward conversations.

Fuck you, catholic church! I hope you're all sued into oblivion!

This pedophile activity continues as religious organizations continue to harbour these despicable pathetic criminals. Where is their all knowing god in this? Does he cheer them on when they are molesting inocent young children. Are these priests not supposed to have a red phone to their god? Why does their god not step in and stop it. Of course there are only two answers to these questions. Either there is no god or god is a pedophile.

Religious folks will say that pedophiles exist outside the church as well and of course that is true. However in the public pedophiles when found are prosecuted. Why are pedophile rates typically higher in church organizatizations then the public in general. If their was a god you would expect rates in religious organizations to be non existant.

If you get paid for having sex then you're a prostitute.  So if you got paid once and enjoyed the benefits of the money why wouldn't you do it again for even more money?  

When someone robs you does the robber have to pay you a lot of money or does he go to prison when he's convicted?

Suppose a priest raped someone and the person got $1 million for it.  Would the person consider the experience worthwhile since the "reward" was $1 million?  Would the person be willing to undergo the experience again if the "reward" was $5 million?

Would the victim be more pleased if the perp had been imprisoned for a long time or if he had been executed instead of him personally, the victim, receiving the $1 million?
